‘RRR’ creates history with Natu Natu Song at Oscar

The song “Naatu Naatu” from the popular Telugu film “RRR” became the first Indian cinema song to receive an Academy Award. The smash hit won best original song at the 95th Academy Awards, defeating heavyweights such as Lady Gaga and Rihana.

RRR has become a global sensation, with Naatu Naatu winning India’s first-ever Oscar for best original song. Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava sang the song, which was composed by MM Keeravaani.

By Bhavna Agarwal: After making history at the golden globes, RRR’s Naatu Naatu has won India’s first Oscar for best original song. The Telugu language song has received worldwide acclaim for its high-energy beats and unrivaled soundtrack.

Naatu Naatu, directed by SS Rajamouli, has crossed all boundaries and impacted the diaspora and global audience. The song knocked out Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand for Top Gun Maverick and Rihanna’s raise me for Black Panther Wakanda Forever at the Oscars.

If that wasn’t enough, Naatu Naatu became the first Indian song to be performed live on stage at the Academy Awards. The song was performed for 2.5 minutes at the Oscar 2023 by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj, with MM Keeravaani conducting the orchestra. On stage, American dancers mimicked the song’s hook and moves. Everyone in the audience gave the act a standing ovation.

To be nominated alongside Hollywood heavyweights and win the award in a heavily dominated western award show, to perform live on the international stage, to heaven Indian actress (Deepika Padukone) announce the performance, and to demonstrate the power of Indian music, Naatu Naatu’s success is more than just a “proud moment” for Indians and Indian cinema.

RRR’s global success is significant at a time when the country is undergoing a cultural shift in terms of cinema. Everyone throughout the world has praised RRR’s action sequences and visual effects, as well as its plot and sheer scope. Even Hollywood was not immune to RRR fever.

On January 10, SS Rajamouli, Junior NTR, and Ram Charan walked the red carpet at the prestigious golden globe Award 2023, representing their film ‘RRR’ in the global arena. The film received two nominations: Best non-English film and Best original song-motion picture. ‘RRR’ won the golden globe for best song- Motion picture, making history and bringing home the prestigious award. With this win, ‘Naatu Naatu becomes the first Asian song to get this honor.

Prem Rakshith choreographed ‘Naatu Naatu,’ MM Keeravaani composed the music, and Chandra bose wrote the lyrics. “RRR,’’ a fictional pre-independence story about two real-life Indian rebels in the 1920s, Alluri Sitarama Raju(Ram Charan) and Komarama Bheem.

“Naatu Naatu” emphasizes the inclusive attitude of dance and camaraderie, winning Charan and jr NTR matching steps to the infectious rhythm. The track’s title translates to bucolic in Telugu. Its 4.35-minute length exemplifies the spirit of enjoyment in country music.

Also, Check about Rajasthan Film Festival, it is a regional film award ceremony. It is an initiative by Kanchan Cassettes and Series (K-Series) and takes place in Jaipur every year. RFF was solely dedicated to films produced in Rajasthan and regional firms of India. This award is given in two categories: the first is for Rajasthani Cinema and the second is for Other Regional Cinema.
