Javed Akhtar
Program Director

The chief guest of Rajasthan Film Festival Javed Akhtar admired the Rajasthan’s talent and exclaimed that “Rajasthan is full of talent and has everything like music, craft but still the cinema is not developing at that pace.” He also targeted the government and said that “Things go hand in hand. Few steps should be ours and few by them, so that cinema can be grown”, also he suggested that government should increases the allowed subsidies for the cinema.
Parsing the 60’s era of cinema he said that, “movies of that era were based on social issues. Their plots used to have moral, and raised social issues but the topics for present movie scenario has totally changed. That era should return within the cinema. He also promised that if the event for Rajasthani cinema is organized again, he would definitely be a part of it.

If a person follows his innovative thoughts and moves towards a new direction, by this itself, his half the problems get solved. Rajasthan is full of art, history and culture; we should promote our culture through films based on it. We should engage ourselves into the history and culture and must try harder ourselves then only our Rajasthani cinema will grow and move further. Cinema is not meant for entertainment only, it is a medium to communicate our art and if we want to raise our cinematic world and culture all over the world.

Rajasthan Film Festival is a Positive step for Rajasthani Films. This is a meaningful step for Rajasthani Cinema because it gives a platform to artists. Though the films made here are of low-budget, but if a story is well presented, then it will be a victorious moment for it, all over the world. Language is not a barrier in cinematic world.
